Organic Pecorino Cheese From Sardinia. Sardinian sheep milk cheese. Food of the gods. We first tasted this cheese in 1972 while hitchhiking in Sardinia, and never forgot it. We spent the past several years looking for an organic version. This is very different from Pecorino Romano, which is aged longer and is harder and saltier. This cheese is mild and flavorful, with a lovely nutty taste and medium consistency. Can be grated or eaten in slices. Extremely versatile, this cheese is a wonderful accompaniment to just about any food or drink.
